In this current day and age... and for the past 30 years, from the moment you draw something... be it a completed painting to a sketch in a book, it is your work and is copyrighted as such. Unlike the the old way of going to a patenting office and dealing with the problem that way...

To Sum this up... Congress in currently trying to pass a bill that will get rid of all existing copyrights in the united states, and the only way to get artwork copyrighted, is to go to a registered copyright office...Which none exist right now...
